Doja Cat Struggles With Mental Health
I just came across a new article about Doja Cat, and I wanted to share it here because it’s a really raw and honest update from her. In a recent TikTok video, she revealed that she has been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).
In the video, Doja admitted that for most of her life, she would pretend to like things or act like everything was fine when it really wasn't. She said that bottling it up eventually "caught up with her." She described BPD as an "agonizing condition" but shared some positive news too: she has been in therapy for years now and is really proud of her progress. She called her journey an "eight-year process of curing, of treatment, and healing."
What was also really interesting is how she brought Chappell Roan into the conversation. Doja praised Chappell for how she handles the media, paparazzi, and fan boundaries. While making it very clear she wasn't trying to diagnose Chappell with anything, Doja said she deeply admires how Chappell is able to be "comfortably uncomfortable" in front of people, express her boundaries, and protect herself. Doja noted that seeing Chappell be so ruthlessly honest without intentionally hurting people inspired her to stop lying to herself and be more authentic.
It’s always brave when celebrities drop the act and talk openly about serious mental health struggles—especially considering how much the media and fans already manipulate their images. With her big world tour coming up later this year, it sounds like she's really prioritizing her health and safety.
